Dear Friends, If there has been a theme for my time as president it has been to build for the future. I have great faith in the future of Anshe Sholom. We have a great past and a compelling story for today. That is why I have pushed for developing our outreach programs. I do not think our great story is widely appreciated, sometime even in our own congregation, and we need to be proud and outgoing about who we are. Part of preparing for the future is securing the building as a structure that will serve us comfortably for many years. Over the past few years we have been rebuilding parts of the shul, from new windows to new gym flooring., from refurbishing the sanctuary to redoing the ballroom. Now we are finishing the biggest project of all—the replacement of our heating and air conditioning systems and a massive upgrade of our electrical system. The shul is here to be a spiritual and social home for all of us. We all need to assume the responsibility of maintaining it and of living up to our promise to build Hashem “a sanctuary.” Many generations have maintained Anshe Sholom. It is now our turn. Shalom, Gary Waller President
