Dear Friends,
On June 13 Anshe Sholom is having its Annual Gala Testimonial Dinner, honoring Dr. Mort Coleman as our Man of the Year. Doctor Coleman has contributed mightily to our synagogue community over many years.
We hear much about “community” from our beloved Rabbi Rosenzveig. Dr. Coleman is an exemplar of what it means to be part of a community, as he brings many layers of talent to building our shul life.
His exceptional intelligence and training as a world class oncologist brings practical wisdom to Anshe Sholom. He spares no effort to put his talents to the service of community members. Mort’s deep humanity and warmth bring the healing touch to the ill, hope to their loved ones, and good humor to all. Dr. Coleman has also aided the shul with generous contributions to its finances. Surely Dr. Mort Coleman has shown his love for Anshe Sholom with all his heart, love, and strength. A true mensch.
We are also honoring David Reitberger with a Certificate of Recognition. David has been an integral part of our outreach campaign by freely applying his professional skills to developing the Anshe Sholom website. And there is more to come, as he helps build our presence on the Internet. David is truly one of our own, having grown up in the Anshe Sholom family. And we all know him from leining at shul and reading the Megillah. It is great to honor one of the sons of the synagogue.
It will be a wonderful evening. The
venue is beautiful, the food will be great, and the entertainment from the Three
Cantors will be varied and lively. Come and join us for a shining evening in
June honoring those who help build our community. If you cannot attend, please
help the synagogue with a generous ad in our journal.
The Annual Sisterhood Dinner, honoring AnnBeth Cohen is being held on Sunday,
May 16, at the synagogue. This promises to be a great evening honoring one of
our most important leaders and volunteers in the shul. You know AnnBeth, so come
and show her how much you love and appreciate her and the contributions she
makes to Anshe Sholom.
